Your choice between two visions for the future
Putting trust in the American people
A few days ago, on October 28, my opponent announced on his website that “federal tax dollars return to Anaheim as part of nearly $15 million” that he was able to secure for local community projects in the 2024 federal budget. In this model of government, we send our money to Washington, and then our lawmakers work to get it back in the form of grants to local government and non-profit organizations. Those organizations then spend this money in ways that they think would be best for certain groups of people. My opponent’s main argument for staying in office is to participate in this tax and spend merry go round in which our money is taken by the federal government and then filters back down to us through programs designed by government. In this process, billions of dollars are lost along the way through fraud, waste, and poor government decision-making. But more importantly, the current system takes away our freedom to shape our own lives with our own money and gives this power to the federal government to manage our lives for us.
I believe that we as taxpayers are better off keeping this money so that we can spend it ourselves. Rather than continuing to fund a massive government bureaucracy, my plan is to phase out all our welfare and entitlement programs, which currently cost over $4 trillion per year, and return this money to the people as a universal basic income of $16,000 per year for every citizen 21 and over. Through our spending choices, we can then support the small businesses that can then provide the goods and services that we ourselves decide we need the most. Rather than the $15 million that my opponent brought back this year, my plan would bring back billions of dollars every year into the district directly into people’s pockets. Rather than guaranteeing federal government jobs, this money would support the local economy.
This year you have a choice between two fundamentally different visions for our future. While my opponent wants to continue to operate a system in which government takes our money and spends it for us, I want to dismantle this system so that the people themselves regain their freedom to make the fundamental decisions about how to manage their lives. Eliminating the fraud and waste of the current system, my plan would dismantle the entire massive bureaucracy that has been created with our tax dollars. Rather than forcing people through the complicated procedures of this bureaucracy to get a small slice of their money back, my plan returns this money to the people directly and simply, based on the principle of equality and the idea that we can trust people to know what to do with their own money.
In the end, our current bureaucratic system is based on a distrust in the ability of common citizens to make their own decisions. I believe in the American people, and that is why I trust them with the freedom and responsibility to shape their own lives and to build their own futures, as well as to care for themselves and for their families, their friends, and their neighbors. If you agree with me, please vote for me and add your voice to mine to start building this new future.
